Purpose:

The purpose of this course is to enhance your conceptual and applied knowledge of managerial accounting.  This goal is approached through reading the textbook, selected readings, handouts, business case analyses, and in-class problem solving activities.  The environment of the accounting profession is dynamic and exciting.  Your participation in class discussion is an integral part of the learning process.  The vision is that each student increases their understanding of the domain of management accounting, performance measurements, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 for their decision-making and strategic success of an organization.

Grades: 

Grades will be based upon a combination of the following:

essay paper (30%)                     class participation (25%)    

two presentations (20%)            final exam (25%).
