INTERNATIONAL STUDY PROGRAMS FOR LERNER COLLEGE UNDERGRADUATES - WHICH INTERESTS YOU?

Don't think you can't do it!  The Advisement Center in Purnell Hall will work with you to plan your semester abroad so that your overseas study fits into your program, and you graduate on schedule. Contact Jennifer Gregan-Paxton at 302 831 4628 for help on planning your program and to see if there are any additional study-abroad opportunities being offered.  Students enrolled in the majors of Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, MIS, and Operations Management have numerous opportunities for study abroad and international experiences:

Check out these suggestions for Study-Abroad opportunities:

1.         Five-week study abroad courses offered primarily in the winter term.  These are six-credit programs, and travel to locations including London, Geneva, Australia, and on some occasions to Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Italy, and Budapest.

2.         Students may take a full semester or year abroad and transfer credits to UD.  Several important things should be noted about these programs:

      -          Several programs are already in operation:  in Paris, Grenoble, Moscow,  Kalmar,
                 Sweden; Berlin; and Singapore

-          All are done through partnership agreements with foreign universities

-          Instruction is in English

-          Tuition is paid to UD, and the student attends the foreign university, which sends a
     student  to UD in exchange

-          Students can take advantage of these programs without delaying progress toward
     graduation at UD

3.         A new major combining area and language studies, the International Business Major, done in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature. is now available.  This program requires study abroad, and combines a management degree with intensive study of the language and culture of a region.  Capability to offer the degree is presently available for Italy, Germany, Spain and Latin America, Russia, and China.
