Dr. Jinwei Cao is an assistant professor of
Management Information Systems in the Alfred Lerner College of
Business & Economics at the University of Delaware. Dr. Cao received
her Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of
Arizona, and a M.S. and B.S. from the Communication University of
China.
Dr. Cao’s research interests include technology
supported learning, multimedia information systems, and human
computer interaction. Her published research articles include topics
of using technology to support learning, building external concept
support for group support systems, cultural impacts on the use of
Instant Messengers, and issues with online social networks. Dr. Cao
has published in Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS),
MIS Quarterly Executive (MISQE), the DATA BASE for Advances in
Information Systems (DATA BASE), Journal of the American Society for
Information Science and Technology (JASIST), IEEE IT Professional,
Journal of Global Information Technology Management (JGITM), and
many other prestigious journals. She has also made numerous
presentations in national and international conferences. She is a
co-author of a book and 18 conference proceedings.
Dr. Cao is a member of Association for Information
Systems (AIS) since 2001. She served as a program committee for the
China Summer Workshop on Information Management (2007 to 2009), the
International Conference on Electronic Commerce (2009), and the
Workshop on Information Technologies and Systems (2009). Dr. Cao is
also a referee for many prestigious journals and conferences such as
Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), Information
Systems Research (ISR), Decision Support Systems (DSS), Journal of
the American Society for Information Science and Technology
(JASIST), IEEE transactions, Hawaii International Conference on
System Sciences (HICSS), and International Conference on Information
Systems (ICIS).
Dr. Cao currently teaches MISY 330-Database Design
and Implementation (undergraduate), ACCT 804-Database Design and
Implementation (graduate), and CISC 250-Business Telecommunication
Networks. She received the Lester W. Chadwick Excellence in Teaching
Award (Department of Accounting & MIS) in 2009 and was nominated for
the University of Delaware’s University-wide Teaching Award in 2008.
