This course provides an introduction to the economics of labor markets and related public policy issues. The first part of the course covers the basic economic analysis of labor markets -- labor demand, labor supply, and human capital investment.  We will also examine several direct applications of the theory such as the labor market effects of minimum wage laws and of immigration.  The second part of the course examines the distribution of income in the U.S., including income inequality and poverty.
