I am an Associate Professor of Hospitality Marketing and

University of Delaware
. I am also the Associate Director of Hospitality Associates for
Research and Training here at UD. I earned my Ph.D. from
Purdue University
and an MBA from the
University of
Newcastle, Australia.
My primary areas of research interest are e-marketing of travel
and tourism products, inter-organizational relationships, perceived
value and perceived fairness. Publications authored by me have appeared
in the Journal of
Travel Research,
Cornell
Hospitality Quarterly,
Journal
of Travel & Tourism Marketing,
International Journal of Hospitality Management,
Tourism Management,
International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management,
Journal
of Hospitality and Leisure Marketing among others.
As for industry experience, I worked for over seven years of in
the areas of lodging management, franchise development and technology
training. I have worked in India's luxury hotel sector with the
Taj Group of Hotels and
Oberoi Hotels.
At the University of Delaware , I teach the Hospitality
Marketing, E-Marketing and the Graduate Level Interactive Travel
Services Marketing courses. I am a member of
HSMAI.
On a personal note, I love listening to Carnatic, Rock and Hindi
film songs of the 80's and earlier. My favorites are
M.S.Subbalakshmi
and
Maharajpuram Santhanam (especially the Pancharatna Krithis)
in Carnatic and Metallica,
Queen,
Pink Floyd,
Deep Purple,
Def Leppard
and The Doors when it
comes to Rock. While
Kishore Kumar's voice was extraordinarily expressive, I also admire
the simplicity and ingenuity of the
Seinfeld series. Lastly, I have a
voracious appetite for politics (not as a practitioner :-), but more as
a student of human behavior) and international affairs.
